The YAMA Difference

Helping to develop and fulfill your child’s true potential

Our philosophy is to instill Christian principles of love, kindness, serving, compassion, goodness, empathy, honesty, and integrity through daily interactions and global insight. We desire to restore humanity and change the future by inspiring children to see a need and make a difference in their communities and abroad.

At You and Me Academy, we believe early childhood education is one of the most important and influential professions in the world. We are not simply caring for children during the day — we are shaping confidence, character, emotional well-being, and future generations through intentional relationships, meaningful learning experiences, and unconditional love.

YAMA was built on faith, resilience, compassion, and the belief that every child deserves to feel safe, accepted, valued, and deeply loved.

Our culture is rooted in the understanding that children learn best when they feel emotionally secure, respected, inspired, and connected to the people around them. Because of this, we strive to create an environment where children, families, and educators all feel they belong to a supportive and uplifting community.

We believe education should never feel cold, disconnected, or transactional. Learning should be joyful, engaging, nurturing, and purposeful. Every classroom at YAMA should feel warm, organized, welcoming, educational, and alive with curiosity, creativity, and kindness.

At YAMA, we are educators — not babysitters. We hold ourselves to high standards because we understand the tremendous responsibility we carry as early childhood professionals. We believe professionalism means showing up with integrity, accountability, emotional maturity, and a commitment to continuous growth. We communicate respectfully, support one another, maintain confidentiality, and work as a team to create consistency and excellence throughout our center.

We believe children thrive when adults model kindness, empathy, honesty, patience, leadership, accountability, respect, and perseverance. These values are not only taught through lessons, but demonstrated daily through our interactions, decisions, and relationships.

We are committed to inclusive practices that honor every child’s unique strengths, developmental needs, learning styles, culture, and background. Every child deserves the opportunity to succeed and feel celebrated for who they are.

At YAMA, emotional safety is just as important as academic readiness. We recognize the lasting impact that trauma, stress, and adverse childhood experiences can have on children and families. Because of this, we approach behavior with empathy, guidance, structure, and developmentally appropriate expectations. We believe discipline should teach, restore, and guide — never shame or harm.

We are intentional about helping children develop confidence, emotional regulation, empathy, independence, social skills, problem-solving abilities, leadership qualities, and a love for learning.

We also believe strong schools are built through strong partnerships with families. We strive to create relationships with parents rooted in trust, respect, communication, collaboration, and shared goals for each child’s success.

At YAMA, we are lifelong learners. We encourage our educators to continue growing professionally, pursue higher education, strengthen their teaching practices, and embrace new opportunities for learning and leadership. We believe mentorship and professional development are essential not only for teacher success, but for the future of early childhood education as a whole.

Our work is guided by faith, love, and purpose.

The wave in our logo represents Matthew 14:28–31 and serves as a reminder that faith, courage, and trust can carry us through uncertainty and growth. Just as Peter stepped out in faith, YAMA was built through perseverance, sacrifice, and unwavering belief in a greater purpose.

We believe every interaction matters. Every child matters. Every family matters. Every educator matters.

At You and Me Academy, we are building more than a school.

We are building a community rooted in love, learning, leadership, and the belief that changing the lives of children can ultimately change the world.

🤍 Faith-Centered Foundation

We strive to create an environment rooted in kindness, compassion, respect, and Christian values, helping children grow in both character and confidence.

🎨 Learning Through Play

Children learn best through hands-on experiences, exploration, and meaningful interactions. Our classrooms are designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Partnerships

We believe families are a child’s first and most important teachers. Through open communication and collaboration, we work together to support each child’s growth and development.

🌱 Individualized Support

Every child develops at their own pace. Through observation, assessment, and intentional teaching, we meet children where they are and help them reach their full potential.

❤️ Relationships First

We believe meaningful relationships are the foundation of learning. Children thrive when they feel safe, valued, and connected to the adults who care for them.

That one feels much more aligned with everything you’ve written throughout the site and less like every other childcare website.

🏫 A Continuum of Care

From infants through GSRP preschool, children experience consistent, developmentally appropriate care and education as they grow.
